How I Reclaimed my Health

Where it All Started
I grew up in Solihull, near Birmingham, England - an active kid, always outside, always moving. Sport came naturally to me, and I carried that energy into early adulthood.
But then life got in the way.
After years in a demanding corporate career, the habits that had kept me healthy quietly fell away. Poor diet, too much drinking, too little movement. I told myself I was just busy. That this was just what life looked like past a certain age. That my best years were behind me.
By the time I was 49, I was overweight, ill, depressed, and carrying a body I didn't recognise. I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and a nagging sense that I should be living better. But I just didn't believe it was possible.
Enough Was Enough
The turning point came rather strangley on an ordinary Monday morning. I was scrolling through Instagram and came across an image of Bilbo Baggins running through the Shire with a huge grin on his face. The words emblazoned across it read: "I'm Going on an Adventure."
It stopped me in my tracks.
"That's how I want to feel," I thought. So, that very morning, I dug out my trainers and went for a long walk through the Surrey Hills. It sounds simple - because it was. But that walk was the beginning of everything.
Soon after I joined a gym. I changed my diet. I built new habits slowly and deliberately, one at a time. I stopped researched and started doing the work. And, much quicker than I expected , the person I remembered started coming back.

The Pay Off
The results didn't happen overnight - but they did happen quickly.
Within 4 months I lost 25kg. My blood pressure normalised. My cholesterol dropped. I built a physique I'm genuinely proud of - one that people half my age have remarked on. In 2022, I ran my first marathon.
I felt, and looked, better than I had in decades.
However, the most important shift wasn't physical. It was the realisation that midlife doesn't have to be a ceiling — it can also be a reset.
No, it's not easy. I watched other people my age struggling in the gym, let down by trainers half their age who didn't understand the practical realities of midlife.
So, I qualified as a Coach, Personal Trainer and Nutritional Advisor at 50, and Fit in Midlife was born.
Now I help thousands of men and women worldwide do exactly what I did. Reclaim their health, rebuild their confidence, and start living again.
If I can do it and they can do it, so can you.
